Last night I was part of a discussion on facebook. People called Charles Schumann "Prick" "Ashole" "Trash" and more. I felt to join in, as this made me angry. Charles Schumann is a friend of mine. I respected him for years. He did and does so many things for our industry. And supported many young, old, male, female bartenders in many ways like only a few of us did in the past. And he still continues to do so. In his daily actions and work Charles is always supporting women. But regarding the discussion, I like to set a few things straight: Charles sentence/quote „women should not work behind a bar beyond 3 pm" in that film and quotes given in interviews in this regards are misogynist. I have to say: in general, you are right! People live more and more healthy. Awesome! They focus on exercising, work out a good balance, good and healthy food, taking care of themselves. It is big. Especially in the „younger“ generations. And yes. People drink less and less alcohol. One reason is for health. And then we also have the „hustler“. They wanna be fit the next morning, Conquering the world again. Both are good points. So, yes: The world will need more non-alcoholic beverages. Here you are right and I agree 100% So, you might also be right, to transform „non-alcoholic “ drinks into the Bar wold. You think that some of these people just love the imagination of „feeling“ like drinking alcohol is great. Also that they do not get „the look“ and „the question“ from the people they spend the time over the drink. Ein Bartender arbeitet in einer Bar. Richtig, oder? Nun ja. Zum Teil. Eigentlich ist das schon eine recht genaue Umschreibung des Berufsbilds Bartenders. Aber dennoch, hat sich dort in letzter Zeit etwas geändert. Sicherlich, es gab und gibt bei "Bar" unterschiedlichste Betätigungsfelder. Bar ist nicht gleich Bar. Café, Club, Restaurantbar, Hotelbar, Pool Bar, Casino Bar, Beach Club, Espresso Bar um nur einige zu nennen. Und dann kommt noch Event und Catering dazu. Show und Flair Bartender. Die Vielfalt ist beachtlich. Und dennoch hat sich gerade "Branchen intern" einiges verändert. Der Brand Event hat das Spielfeld betreten. Brand Event? Nun ich rede hier nicht von der Markteinführung eines neuen Automobils oder Smartphones. Sicherlich auch, oft lukrative, Brand Events für Caterer. Ich rede hier von Brands aus dem Bereich Bar.
