We shared a Patè and bread

  • 3 glasses of Kronenbourg 1664

Drinks I had:
  • 1,5 Gin Basil Smash ( we tried 3 different Versions. A „regular“ one with Beefeater 47, one with RUTTE DRY GIN and one with RUTTE CELERY GIn. Rutte works very well but the Celery Version is killing it - I fell in love with ! ) 
  • 2 Shots of Tequila. No Brand. Was a present from Raoul and his friends from Mexico. They used to run LE LEON Tequila and just sold the brand. They are now doing a new, unreleased brand, not published yet. It was a Reposado Tequila. Very interesting Agave fruit. The fresh oak barrel was not elegant. A hint to much vanilla, little to sweet.

  • 2 Moravia Beer served in a big marmalade jar
  • kind of big Tequila Shot infused with Goji Berry 
  • double shot of Authentic Mexican ( A very Tasty version of the rough „MEXIKANER“ originally serve with Korn - here with Tequila) 
  • "Franzbrötchen" Daiquiri

We just left: Location: Elb Panorama Bernhard-Nocht-Straße 113 - (Special Event Location . amazing view over the harbor Hamburg - run by NORDEVENT)

While watching the Fireworks during Cruise Days at the harbor we had a nice and necessary plate from the great buffet.

  • Monkey 47 Gin and Tonic 
  • Tonka Gin and Tonic 
  • nice Shot of Helbing Aquavit

(ok. I tried to cheat Raoul with two fake „Gin Tonic“ which just was Tonic Water and Zeste. He tried to get rid of his drinks and gave them to People around us. After these maybe necessary

  • 2 shots of bourbon 
  • 2 bottle of Demory Astroblond Pils 
  • Not sure if I forgot one …

Gestern Abend - " 50% Bonded Rye Nacht"  in Guten Löwen. Spät nach Mitternacht. Bartender kommen aus den Bars der Stadt für einen Night Cup. Stefan ruft an : "Mach gerade Feierabend und komme gleich rüber. Schon Beefeater 24 probiert?" "Nein" "Ok. bring ich mit..." Gesagt, getan. Kurze Zeit später: Aperitife Rye Cocktail "Red Hook". Dann Beefeater 24. Stefan ist schon seit Wochen voll auf begeistert. Ich kann nach kurzer Probe seine Begeisterung nicht ganz teilen. Kein schlechtes Produkt - aber in meinen Augen auch nicht mehr. Es fehlt irgend etwas, was diesen Gin einzigartig macht.  Wie schön, das Geschmack unterschiedlich ist. Ich schenke Ihm Bloom Gin ein, hatte mir Matthias Eikerling vor einigen Tagen zugeschickt. Nicht Stefans Geschmack. Verhaltene Begeisterung.  "Nö ... kann ich nicht viel mit anfangen". A discussion about woman in the bar industry

Last night I was part of a discussion on facebook. It took place at Christine Williams profil - find a link here:  https://www.facebook.com/christine.wil…/…/10221226072987813… I became quite emotional because the tone used in this discussion was very disrespectful. People called Charles Schumann "Prick" "Ashole" "Trash" and more. I felt to join in, as this made me angry. Charles Schumann is a friend of mine. I respected him for years. He did and does so many things for our industry. And supported many young, old, male, female bartenders in many ways like only a few of us did in the past. And he still continues to do so. In his daily actions and work Charles is always supporting women. But regarding the discussion, I like to set a few things straight: Charles sentence/quote „women should not work behind a bar beyond 3 pm" in that film and quotes given in interviews in this regards are misogynist. Why your Non-Alcoholic Spirit Brand will maybe fail...

I have to say:  in general, you are right!  People live more and more healthy. Awesome! They focus on exercising, work out a good balance, good and healthy food, taking care of themselves. It is big. Especially in the „younger“ generations. And yes. People drink less and less alcohol. One reason is for health. And then we also have the „hustler“. They wanna be fit the next morning, Conquering the world again. Both are good points. So, yes: The world will need more non-alcoholic beverages. Here you are right and I agree 100% So, you might also be right, to transform „non-alcoholic “ drinks into the Bar wold. You think that some of these people just love the imagination of „feeling“ like drinking alcohol is great. Also that they do not get „the look“ and „the question“ from the people they spend the time over the drink. So you copy the rituals and the habits of enjoying alcohol in a sophisticated way into your product. And this is why you believe in Non-Alcoholic Spirits. Te
