"CS AWARDS 2012

COCKTAILS SPIRITS 2012 will take place the 3rd & 4th June in Paris, at La Maison Rouge.

As we are signing off the final stage of the Bar Rouge presentations, this will include Osaka Hiramatsu, Barcelona Ohla Boutique Hotel, Paris Candelaria, Seattle Canon, Lyon Antic Wine, Italy Jerry Thomas Project...and a couple of surprise!

We are now very excited to launch the Cocktails Spirits Awards. 

The CS Awards will honor the best ten bars in Europe.

To be fair in selecting Europe ten best bars we have approached movers & shakers & people from our industry, in order to ask them to send us they preferred three bars in Europe...this is you chaps!

What is important is that these three bars are chosen in regards to this year only (2011-2012), they don't have to be only your favorite ever bars but rather three bars that have really impressed you within the last year in Europe.

This why we are reaching out to you today simply to ask if you could send us your three favorite bars in Europe.

What are the three bars located in Europe which you think are the best today?
What are the bars which you have visited in Europe within the last year and that you find are the best all across europe?

You can send more than three if you wish.

Gestern Abend - " 50% Bonded Rye Nacht"  in Guten Löwen. Spät nach Mitternacht. Bartender kommen aus den Bars der Stadt für einen Night Cup. Stefan ruft an : "Mach gerade Feierabend und komme gleich rüber. Schon Beefeater 24 probiert?" "Nein" "Ok. bring ich mit..." Gesagt, getan. Kurze Zeit später: Aperitife Rye Cocktail "Red Hook". Dann Beefeater 24. Stefan ist schon seit Wochen voll auf begeistert. Ich kann nach kurzer Probe seine Begeisterung nicht ganz teilen. Kein schlechtes Produkt - aber in meinen Augen auch nicht mehr. Es fehlt irgend etwas, was diesen Gin einzigartig macht.  Wie schön, das Geschmack unterschiedlich ist. Ich schenke Ihm Bloom Gin ein, hatte mir Matthias Eikerling vor einigen Tagen zugeschickt. A discussion about woman in the bar industry

Last night I was part of a discussion on facebook. It took place at Christine Williams profil - find a link here:  https://www.facebook.com/christine.wil…/…/10221226072987813… I became quite emotional because the tone used in this discussion was very disrespectful. People called Charles Schumann "Prick" "Ashole" "Trash" and more. I felt to join in, as this made me angry. Charles Schumann is a friend of mine. I respected him for years. He did and does so many things for our industry. And supported many young, old, male, female bartenders in many ways like only a few of us did in the past. And he still continues to do so. In his daily actions and work Charles is always supporting women. But regarding the discussion, I like to set a few things straight: Charles sentence/quote „women should not work behind a bar beyond 3 pm" in that film and quotes given in interviews in this regards are misogynist. Why your Non-Alcoholic Spirit Brand will maybe fail...

I have to say:  in general, you are right!  People live more and more healthy. Awesome! They focus on exercising, work out a good balance, good and healthy food, taking care of themselves. It is big. Especially in the „younger“ generations. And yes. People drink less and less alcohol. One reason is for health. And then we also have the „hustler“. They wanna be fit the next morning, Conquering the world again. Both are good points. So, yes: The world will need more non-alcoholic beverages. Here you are right and I agree 100% So, you might also be right, to transform „non-alcoholic “ drinks into the Bar wold. You think that some of these people just love the imagination of „feeling“ like drinking alcohol is great. Also that they do not get „the look“ and „the question“ from the people they spend the time over the drink. So you copy the rituals and the habits of enjoying alcohol in a sophisticated way into your product. And this is why you believe in Non-Alcoholic Spirits. Te
