About Monkey 47 Gin Distiller’s Cut 2018

Today, Monkey 47 Gin released the new Distiller’s Cut 2018. This years it is the first time you can only buy it at the MONKEY 47 Online Shop www.monkeykiosk.com

This decission is very much dicussed in the “Gin Lovers” Community. Each years Monkey 47 Gin releases 4000 bottles of the Distiller’s cut. And each year it is kind of a battle on how to get one, or even better a few bottles more.
Because all the Gin Lovers know, that good Distiller’s Cut double, tribble and x-time the value over the next weeks and years.

You find a few years old “RUBY SUL” first Edition Distillers Cut from Originally 70,-€ now for 900+ € on ebay and the first Monkey Distillers Cuts from 2011 for +1100 € ( originally 70 €).

A true collectors game. Boring people who buy Gin for reselling it, instead of drinking it with friends.

So this years you can only but it in the Monkey Online Shop. Some say, “it is fairest way to bring it on the market and make sure its coming to the end consumer not to some resellers stashing it and want to make money.
On the other side of the medal you have hundreds of great wholesellers and traders who have build the Monkey brand over the last 7 years while stocking it and shipping it, this time not getting this special and rare bottles, often uaed to support great customers.

69,95 € this year, for a 0,5 ltr. bottle Distiller’ Cut. Also this year: no, let’s guess 30%, profit margins going to the wholesellers. All solde via the online shop of Monkey, promoting all the nice add ons like “THE BECHER”, Aprons and a WUNDERBAR ZESTEN PELLER.

It is the first “Distiller’s Cut” since Monkey 47 moved from a beeing a small independend company to theportfolio of the Global Player PERNOD RICARD.

They need to pratice still a little bit. Today, the Website of the new shop broke up a few times, some of the clients where asking on teh FACEBOOK PAGE for support. Also it looks like the did not manage to ship to the UK today … so let’s hope that they will fix his issue and there will still be some bottles left for the brits. From this wonderful Black Forrest Juniper Juice.

But, thats just a few hick ups. Monkey Gin kind of owns the Gin “Distiller’s Cut” Game. They kind of invented it, and made it famous. With the legendary Distiller Christoph Keller.

But, next to all this questions of: What is the best way to distribute such a rare collectors item or is the new way “fair”, there is one question not very much ask in this days.

As far as I could read the information right now given: there is no Distiller behind the Distiller’s Cut of Monkey 47.

So, who is the Distiller behind the Distiller’s Cut ? And if there is no Distiller, why is it still called Distiller’s Cut?
